And One More Thing....

You'll just have to forgive my absentmindedness. I got so caught up in battling Blogger that I forgot to mention the stats from yesterday's Doctor's visit. All of the voicemails from you all asking how things went reminded me. Thanks for you care, prayers and concern.

Drew is FINALLY for the first time in his life, on the growth charts, weighing in at a whopping 17 lbs, 7.5 oz!!! We are in the first percentile on weight, thank you very much.

Ben, on the other hand is not on the charts yet. No surprise there since he's so active. And he weighs 15 lbs, 8 oz. We did more tests and blood work at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital yesterday afternoon, and we'll keep you posted on the results.

Out and About Adventures

Alright, I admit it: the long weekend has really messed me up this week. All day Monday I thought it was Saturday, Tuesday I thought it was Monday, and so on. So, I've been all out of whack this week, and I think that might be to blame for the week being almost over, and just now updating on our holiday weekend. Anyways, we had a great weekend, and had a great time just being together.

We said goodbye to the summer, and said hello to my very favorite time of year. We kicked off the football season with the first UT game at our friend Bubba's house. And yes, all four of us had on our orange. Michael had on ESPN GameDay from the time the boys woke up, and I think he had a great time introducing them to his gameday tradition of smoking meat on his grill.

But the best part of the weekend was taking the boys to the zoo for the first time. They LOVED it, especially little Drew, who squealed and kicked his legs and threw his hands up in excitement at every new animal. Here are some of our favorite pictures of the day for you to enjoy. Thanks for checking in on us!

In the habitat for the meerkats you can go through this little tunnel and pop up in their little village to see them up close. Both Ben and Drew loved it. Just pretend that there are meerkats in the picture....the photographer was a little distracted.

This was by far Drew's favorite part. He and Daddy got to feed the parakeets and he wanted to hold them so badly. He just couldn't understand why they didn't want to play with him too.

And this one wasn't taken at the zoo. It was taken at our favorite Sunday place to eat, Vittles. I just had to include it. Somehow this little buger chewed through the wrapper holding the butter in the packet, and he was enjoying every bit of it as you can see from his hands and cheeks. We tried to take it away (thoughts of clogged arteries by age 7 flashing before our eyes) but he screamed and cried so hard that it really wasn't worth the fight. Hence, the smile and showing us the butter that he likes to eat. What a stinker!

If a picture's worth a thousand words.....

......then what is a whole story worth? This one is priceless. And it is completely representative of a day in the life of us as we chase our little guys all over the house. Or in this case, the closet. I had to quit putting away their laundry to grab the camera as I saw what Ben was doing. In case you can't tell, the boy was bound and determined (I have NO idea where he gets those traits from!) to get the diaper bag. Nevermind that he could have just crawled straight to it. No sir. He decided the best route would be to go through ALL of the toy boxes to get to it. And by the look on his face at the end, I think it was worth all the work. What a cutie!!!

And I know that there are way more pictures this time of Ben than of Drew. So I'll dedicate a post to Drew's adventures soon. But for today, here is a picture of Drew enjoying his breakfast, and a few of all the teeth that they have so far. Look at those great smiles and that double chin (and I'm sorry to say that I know exactly where he gets that from.)

Have a happy long weekend!

Oh, and check out the fun pictures of the boys playing with their buddy Brax at the Chik-Fil-A playground!!!

A Few More Pictures

When mommy's not looking (or even when she is) we like to pull the books off the shelves. But this time she caught us just in the nick of time.

"Maisy, if I kiss your hand will you be my girlfriend?"

Splish Splash we were taking a bath. Daddy gives us our bath every night, and it's one of our very favorite parts of the day.

We love to go swimming, and most days Reagan jumps in and goes swimming with us.

We play with our neighbors Daily and Maisy almost every day. They are our favorite girlfriends, even though one of them is an older woman.

I like to have something in my hands to push across the floor when I do my army crawl. Today, it happens to be my fish shoe.

I'm going for the spikey-lizard-mohawk look. I may only be 10 months old, but what can I say? I was just born with style.

Baby Savannah comes over to play with us, and even though she weighs as much as we do, we're still bigger.

Mommy took us to a luau for Miss Carroll, who is getting married so that we could see all of our friends from Dr. Hunter's office. It was a party for her, but I think we might have stolen the show!

That's all for now...we'll keep you posted. Have a happy weekend!!!

Can You Believe It??!!??!!

Lo, and behold!!!....an actual update to the blog site that has sat virtually untouched in what feels like eons. I know that there are many of you who had your doubts as to whether or not I would ever post again. But, at long last, here it is. As I sit here and type, my precious angels are fast asleep, and I must type quickly since I never know how long a nap will last.

Needless to say that much has changed in our world since I last posted. For those of you who had been praying for Michael's mom, thank you! She is doing great, and seems to be getting better every day. As a matter of fact, they just came for a visit, and got to meet many of our good friends at church.

Ben and Drew are getting bigger and smarter every day, and they have changed so much in such a small amount of time. It's hard to believe that they are almost a year old! So, in a nutshell, here is a little bit about what's been going on since I last blogged:

Michael and I got to go on a "second honeymoon" to the Cayman Islands WITHOUT our buddies! It was a great vacation and much needed, even though it was pretty hard to leave them. We've been to visit Mawmaw and Pawpaw, Aunt Chelle, Uncle Dan and Dressie in Missouri for the fourth of July. Drew didn't care for fireworks at all, or the noises that came with them. We've been down to see Mimi and Pop in Alabama and Nana and Papa got to come over from Georgia to see us while we were there. We had my family's Family Reunion here in Nashville, and it was a great weekend full of laughs and good food. Lots of extended family, and of course, the boys were the center of attention, which they loved! So, we've been pretty busy. Here at home, the boys are discovering something new every day.
This is Drew giving Reagan kisses through the door. Yes, they can both pull themselves up on anything and everything (including each other, which usually leads to grunts and whines of irritation). Drew now has four teeth, and is working hard on two more that should bust through any day now.
And this is Drew giving me a really great concert first thing in the morning on his favorite drum set. They actually both prefer a wooden spoon and a pot to just about any other toy. Ten billion toys to play with, and thats what they want. Go figure. This is Ben helping me with the dishes, as he does every day. Just as quickly as I put something in the dishwasher, he is right there to pull it out, and promptly put it in his mouth.

And this is another common sight at our house these days. Apparently, the only thing better than splashing in the water on the door is chewing the rack that the dishes are supposed to go in! Bless. Ben is a little behind his brother on the teeth, and only has three as of right now. They are honestly into everything, and if you only knew how fast they can get around and up the stairs and into whatever they aren't supposed to, then you'd know why it's taken me so long to post.

We have been having so much fun lately with all of our friends, and hopefully I'll get back to putting pictures on here a little more regularly.

Hope you are all doing great, and are winding down from a great summer!

Love to you all,
the Long Lost Blogger

A Quick Update

My friend from church (and coincidentally three-door-down neighbor), Amanda came over yesterday to play with the three of us. We had so much fun, and while we were playing on the floor, she captured these precious pictures. I just had to share them with you! She's so talented at catching the moment. Thanks, Amanda!!!

On another note, please keep Michael's mom, Shari, in your prayers. She is in the hospital right now due to complications after a kidney stone, and it is hard to be so far away while so much is going on. Pray for Jim (Michael's dad) as he cares for her, and for a full and quick recovery. We'll be heading there to be with them as soon as he gets back from China. But in the meantime, there's no such thing as too many prayers.

"Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and wonderful results." ~ James 5:16

Our Favorite Gang...

...minus of Xander, Paisley, and Baby Jay! These are all of our favorite friends, and every Monday night this is who you'll find us hanging out with on a blanket at the ball fields while we all cheer for our daddies. But if you add in the three that this picture is missing, you'll see all of the babies that we've got in our lifegroup.

We always have such a good time with all of our friends, and I feel so blessed to be able to raise my children with such amazing mommies. I love you girls...you are my sanity on most days, my encouragement on the hard days, and my favorite people to be around on the silly days!!!
